‘A Perishing Of Cherished Things’ comes from the minds of Barbara, a Brighton-based duo well-versed in crafting nostalgic pop. It merges a complex, well-structured and warm composition with a feeling of overwhelming nostalgia that rings true of the likes of Breakfast In America era Supertramp and a modernised Beatles. They describe the track as “sort of about a mid-life crisis. Not that we’ve experienced one… yet! Almost no one ends up having the life they imagined for themselves when they were young.” Their wry humour and endless hooks suggest big things for this pair.
